does anyone know if there are ANY Chinese carryout places doing delivery? our top six choices are all closed, and i have no idea where to try next. and, yes, i've made two replica meals at home already.

We ordered from Shanghai Zhen Gong Fu from Elmhurst this week. Took awhile and more expensive and not the standard American Chinese but it's quite good if you want Shanghainese.

Just came from a shopping trip to Elmhurst. Today is the last day for US Mart. That new supermarket (never got the name) is also closed.

The new place (idk the English name) is closed Monday and Tuesdays but will have limited hours Wed-Sunday from 11-4.

What was open in Elmhurst?

I couldn't find confirmation of this on a website anywhere, but I read on the JH Families Google group that Apna Bazaar is now closed for a week, although they are accepting phone orders of more than $50

"They are closed to in-store customers until April 8. But if you're buying $50 or more worth of groceries, you can call 718-565-5960 or 516-348-2061 ext 200 or email orderjackson@yahoo.com for in-store pick-up between 10am-6pm during April 1-7."

Does anyone know if Lemon Farm is open? I walked by it last week and then in the weekend and it was closed with a sign that it was opening again soon.

Organic Market Closed for Covid-19 & Other Store Closings

Hi All, To save anyone a trip to the health food store, the Organic Market on 37th/85th is closed "until further notice" the sign says.

All the little pharmacies on 37th are closed. Franks is still open, thank goodness. And the larger drug stores are still open. I found bathroom cleaner at Rite Aid. They also had some off-brand Swiffer-type wet and dry still in stock, but no paper products. C-Town had Kleanex but no TP.

I found TP at the little news/lotto shop near Taco Bell, of all places. The dollar store on 37th/86th had been my go-to in past weeks, but they are closed now too.

The trouble with ordering in at this time...is that folks are nervous if maybe the food preparer is an asymptomatic carrier...and might transmit the disease via the food.

How do you know when asymptomatic carriers, said to be up to 20% of the population, cannot be tested?

A worrying mess, really.
