Yeah, C24 was one of the first buyers, if I recall correctly (before me, and I think I was the 10th). So they have already had the apartment long enough to sublet.

As a non-WP resident, I'm curious about how long a shareholder can sublet their apartment. Also which is it, sublet after two or three years?

Things may have changed since I read about this, but:

* Subletting is not a guaranteed right (subject to board approval, and the board is currently controlled by the sponsor, not by residents)

* If approved, you can sublet for up to 4 years (lifetime maximum) after 1 year of residence, but your maintenance will increase by 10% while subletting. Since the maintenance is already high, this could be a $100-$200 increase in your monthly maintenance.

For anyone not on the mailing list or not checking it, there is a shareholder meeting coming up very soon and a big discussion about it on the list.

Please ask about FIOS and more washing machines.

FYI it's on July 1. Totally inconvenient date as it's a big holiday travel week and lots of people can't make it.

As to washing machines, the laundry rooms are getting renovated (I think it's already started on the B/D side of the complex). Not sure if they'll add more washers; I never see another soul when I do my laundry and it's only busy at the prime laundry times.

Maybe we have been unlucky but we have had a very different experience, e.g. all the machines in use, or all the machines broken, or afraid to use the machines because we just saw someone put their dirty sneakers into a machine, ...

GeorgeWashington, which laundry room have you been in and found "all the machines broken"? Occasionally I encounter one, like a washing machine or a dryer. I don't remember ever encountering more than one machine broken at any given time.

Most recent example I can think of is Tuesday night 2 weeks ago (maybe 3 weeks) where the washers in the ABC laundry were acting up (displaying errors, stopping cycles early) so we went to the DEF laundry instead, but then the dryers there weren't starting.

We didn't try every machine that night, it wasn't clear whether the broken machines were still charging us or whether we would get refunds for them.

There was a big storm that night, that might have affected the machines somehow? Rafael came to the ABC laundry to try and fix some machines, I think one person had their clothes stuck in a machine that had stopped mid cycle.

Please file a complaint about FiOS being unavailable here:

https://www1.nyc.gov/apps/311universalintake/form.htm?serviceName=DoITT+Cable+Complaint+Installation

You will get a call back from Verizon Executive Relations within a day or two. A number of us have filed complaints already. The last update we had from Verizon was that they added us to the back of the installation queue in February, before that we were not even in the Verizon queue

A few years ago when I first asked about FIOS I was told that the Delta management office would not allow it until after the halls were renovated.

Verizon said that they put the fiber optic cable to the basement when they put in a new copper line from the Central Office a couple of years ago.

My understanding is that Delta will allow it but that Verizon only sent the paperwork to Delta in February of this year. Verizon said they also tried to send paperwork in 2016 but they didn't hear back from Delta then.

At this point I think we are just waiting for Verizon. But if you file a 311 complaint about FiOS being unavailable you may learn some new info.

Wow, that is crazy! I'm glad I missed that.

I spoke to the FIOS installer today. There are two more weeks of work to do. That could take up to a month.

The cable installation will take another week. Then, the "splicing guys" will come (when they can fit it into their schedule).
