Who loves Banh Mi?
« on: November 22, 2019, 01:02:09 PM »
Hi neighbors,

Who loves Banh Mi Sandwiches? Banh Mi is a traditional budget friendly Vietnamese sandwiches, served with varieties of pork and/or tofu with marinated pickles and jalapeno.

If there is a Banh Mi shop off Northern Blvd and in the late 80s Street? Would you walk over for a Banh Mi? Perhaps also delivery to your front door via Ubereats?

My name is Patrick Duong. I was born in Vietnam, growth up in New York. My families lives in Jackson Heights. I wanted to open a Banh Mi shop, thought I would ask fellow neighbors if they are interested in such a sandwich before I signed a lease.

Please feel free to express you thoughts. Thanks in advance! I'll monitor this topic frequently for answers.

Cheers!
Duong

I would love to have a bahn mi place and I would patronize it but not too frequently, as I'm in the 70s. I go to Juju about once every couple of months.

Good luck to you!

 Hi there,

As long as you love a good bang mi, once or twice a month is good enough as in anything else. :)

Thanks!
Duong

Please, please open up a Banh Mi shop here! For a short while the Addictive Winery did Banh Mi
sandwiches and they were incredible. We would absolutely love it in my household and I know
that you would have lots of young people wanting to hang out a little like they do at JuJu's in
Elmhurst. Kimchi fries would be wonderful also.  :)

I've only had vegan Banh Mi and enjoyed it. I would definitely patronize your establishment if you offered vegan options,  Pho would be nice too. I know I am not the only vegan in JH but it would be nice to have more options.

I love banh mi, but it's not something I would order for delivery.  I'd worry that the bread would be soggy by the time it arrives.

I love JoJu, and would like to have a closer option.

You know it so well! Yes, it will get soggy when people didn't do it right. Give us a try when we open.  :)

Thai Son makes a banh mi, but it's available on a very limited basis early in the day. quite good, but a roll of the dice in terms of getting one.

it would be great to have a dedicated place run by folks who know their way around the sandwich (and it sounds like these folks do).

I would also love vegan bahn mi in the neighborhood! And if you're considering more on the menu, a vegan pho option would be great, especially in the winter.

I never got to try the bahn mi from Addictive, but a dedicated place offering it in the afternoon and evening would be awesome.

Summer and JuJu are great bahn mi spots in Elmhurst, but not close enough for delivery or a quick stroll.

Best of luck with this venture!
