Looks like the old Sears. I work at the Lefrak high rise so pretty excited.

Love this one. Am not sure if the closeness and more frequent shops will equal the wallet
draining less frequent shopping expeditions - or if it will surpass. Smiling thinking about it.

I'm psyched! I have zero interest in their furniture but I do love their smaller items. Impulse purchases galore.

I can just see the traffic jams now....  Should be a nice boom to the local economy.

this Ikea is testing out a new 'commuter-model'. so no furniture pickup! only delivery of furniture

small items will be available for purchase as normal.

I went.

It's definitely big enough and has a lot.

And cool that folks no longer need to go to Red Hook in Brooklyn.

I went in January.

This is what to expect.

It's smaller than the classic giant Ikea stores in Red Hook or Paramus.

But it's much larger than the planning studio store they have on the Upper East Side in Manhattan.

Expect to find everything you would see in the Marketplace (housewares) area of the Red Hook location, plus some model rooms, and planning services, and a limited selection of the smaller items of furniture.  Larger things you would have to order for delivery.

Almost all of the space is below ground, deeply so on the Queens Boulevard side -- once inside, my cell reception was poor.  So plan ahead.
