Definitely an uptick in graffiti. Not to mention all the discarded gloves and masks. My heart goes out to the homeless encampment under the BQE at 35th and 34th avenues.  We can do a hell of a lot better than that. That said, the resulting garbage, stench of  urine and feces is really a disgrace to the leadership of the community. Hope these people are given the help to help themselves.

Why isn't street cleaning taking place?  I tried for months to work with politicians to clean the mess up in the western portion of JH near the BQE with no success.  This is going to take a community wide effort to clean this mess so we can have a safe and clean place to live.

Why should residents in western JH not be able to use the 65th street station due to the filth, smell and the feeling of being uncomfortable with walking under the BQE?

Try contacting NY1. Maybe they could do a piece on it.

riots=looting=stealing=breaking and entering

Don't put words in my mouth or change my meaning.

I didn't. The shift went from riots to protests/protesters. This is equating the two.  That was done by another poster. Why are you so sensitive to criticism of someone else's obvious gaslighting, as if it was a criticism of you?

If the Democrats win in November, this is going to be the new normal. Get used to it.

It'll be worse if Trump wins. This is the new normal either way.

What has AOC said about the current situation? Is she for or against the riots?

Did you try Googling it?

yes, and I found nothing directly from her. There were just some wacko right wing articles about her.

Her handlers have not told her what to say yet?

I got my absentee ballot today. Are there any candidates who are relatively sensible who have a chance of winning against her?

Oh, she is 100% for. She offers advice for protesters on her social media and she joined the protests in Astoria just the other day. Her IG stories generally show what she's up to.

Just a quick reminder that rioting and peaceful protesting is not the same thing. I'm sure she's for the latter.

You are literally so obsessed with the term gaslighting. It's funny.

You're absolutely right and I actually read the original post sort of fast/wrong and totally equated the two. I do realize there's a big difference. Media shows footage of both interchangeably and the whole situation makes one's head spin to say the least.

AOC joined the protest in Astoria and offered tips to protesters on IG. Not rioters obviously. However, unless I missed a post from her...I am not sure if she publicly disavowed the looters though?  I follow her on all her platforms, but that doesn't mean I see every post.

Thankfully, we have  great leadership coming from the White House. It’s up to governors of each state now to take control of your destiny. Payment is coming due.

Especially when you have A presidential candidates saying 10 to 15% of the American people are not very good. What percent is he talking about? I wonder.

For those wondering, as I was, about the significance of District Leaders and its intersection with the shadowy world of Qns. party machinery, you may find the below article to be of use--

https://gothamist.com/news/queens-reformers-target-district-leader-races-as-next-step-after-aoc-and-caban

The opaque nature has led to calls for reform--

If you're interested in finding out who is running, as information on individuals is hard to obtain, this may be a good start--

Meanwhile , back at the ranch....the dept. of justice is demanding that Prince Andrew be handed over to the FBI to be questioned over his connection to Jeffrey Epstein. The DOJ stated that he is formally part of a criminal investigation. How easily people forget. BTW ... Epstein didn't kill himself.

Andrew could bring down a lot of people on both sides of the American political aisle. Everyone knows that both a former president and a current president have close ties to Epstein, and there are probably a lot more names to be named.

Could you imagine, defund the police in Jackson Heights Corna and Elmhurst?  Whatever that means, I don’t think it would be good. But they have their agenda.

New York is pretty much broke now after this COVID crisis.

So, everything will probably be defunded.

I just saw this. The senate authorized subpoenas for FBI’s crossfire hurricane.....Aka Obamagate. I think about 50 people were on the list.  Wow...crazy. Interested to see what  happens next.
