So my political commentary is that governors and mayors have too much power in this country. They allow a coronavirus four wheeled Carvel truck to drive around, but they need abortion clinics and liquor stores open, While They insist places of worship remain closed

Carvel has never operated trucks. decent adherents of the Abrahamic religions --as well as the Eastern faiths -- voluntarily suspended mass gatherings. the leaders followed teachings from above, not teachings of political expediency. I am grateful for religious leaders that care more for their followers than for the almighty dollar.

Liquor stores and paid for abortion clinics  seem like the almighty dollar to me.

What has AOC said about the current situation? Is she for or against the riots?

yes, and I found nothing directly from her. There were just some wacko right wing articles about her.

Her handlers have not told her what to say yet?

I got my absentee ballot today. Are there any candidates who are relatively sensible who have a chance of winning against her?

Oh, she is 100% for. She offers advice for protesters on her social media and she joined the protests in Astoria just the other day. Her IG stories generally show what she's up to.

Definitely an uptick in graffiti. Not to mention all the discarded gloves and masks. My heart goes out to the homeless encampment under the BQE at 35th and 34th avenues.  We can do a hell of a lot better than that. That said, the resulting garbage, stench of  urine and feces is really a disgrace to the leadership of the community. Hope these people are given the help to help themselves.

much like the police chiefs of many cities, who've also joined marchers. she is on the side of good. and the side of good will prevail. soon.

Obviously, she favors the marchers.

I was wondering what she thought of the looting since approves of turnstile jumping, selling food illegally in the subway and people moving to foreign countries without approval. Perhaps she thinks it is ok to steal from Target but not from stores owned by immigrants.

When I was in Catholic grammar school I remember a nun telling the class that it was ok to steal from rich people.

Notice the shift. This is gaslighting. It's also a flagrant statement that the poster does not value the U.S. Constitution and our rights guaranteed by the First Amendment.

riots=looting=stealing=breaking and entering

Don't put words in my mouth or change my meaning.

If the Democrats win in November, this is going to be the new normal. Get used to it.

Why isn't street cleaning taking place?  I tried for months to work with politicians to clean the mess up in the western portion of JH near the BQE with no success.  This is going to take a community wide effort to clean this mess so we can have a safe and clean place to live.

Why should residents in western JH not be able to use the 65th street station due to the filth, smell and the feeling of being uncomfortable with walking under the BQE?
