This is disappointingly (though not surprisingly) generic and ugly. And given how cheaply those glass towers are built, they'll look even worse 20 yrs from now. Ugh.

The building is undeniably out of character for the neighborhood, but as an avid movie goer, I for one am intrigued by another theater option. Especially one that's on my way home from work.

That being said, UA Kaufman is literally only a mile directly north of this location. Understanding that Kaufman more so serves Astoria and northern LIC, they are extremely close to one another. Enough that there will likely be cannibalization. Seems like an odd business decision on Regal's part.

Nevertheless, once this is built, I'll probably start going here over UA Kaufman, unless I'm craving Chela & Garnacha or Arepa Cafe. It's a straighter shot on the 7-train, and I'm fond of a few of the restaurants on the surrounding blocks (SoleLuna, Turkish Grill, etc.).

Good ol' Center Cinemas. I've seen many a film there. I remember watching Jingle All the Way in that theater with my mom. Haha. As much as I cherished those memories, I can't pretend it was a particularly nice theater. It was cheap though!

^ THIS. I loathe all the towering walls of glass being put up all over the city.
