White house puppy!
« on: November 05, 2008, 12:05:10 PM »
Last night Barack Obama said that he would be getting a new puppy for his daughters to bring to their new home in the White House. What kind of puppy do you think Sasha and Malia will be getting?

I'd read at the ASPCA's site that at least one of his daughters is allergic to dogs. So even though the girls have been eyeing a beagle, perhaps they'll end up with a wheaten terrier/poodle/bichon/westie/yorkie ....   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypoallergenic_dog_breeds

Or perhaps they'll find a rescue at the pound that they fall in love with, and do what the rest of us do - just start taking allergy pills and vacuum a lot.

funny quote from that article you linked to - just goes to show there's an association for everyone!  (do you think it's a paid job?)

"They do not cause any type of allergy and are very friendly and sweet," said Claudia Galvez, 38, director of the Friends of the Peruvian Hairless Dog Association.

I'm thinking about going back to school so that some day I could eligible to apply for a job as the Assistant Director of the Friends of the Peruvian Hairless Dog Association.   :D

I read a story about this in The Huffington Post.  The pup is six months old and was gifted to the Obamas by Senator Ted Kennedy.  The girls named him Bo because that was their grandfather's nickname.  Bo is a real cutie!
