Oh, BTW, have you ever made pizza dough?  It's not kid's play.

Another thing...have you ever stood on your feet in a 100 degree kitchen for 8 or more hours?

Or tried to serve 50 orders in 30 minutes?

Pizzerias do it every day.

Restaurants do it every day.

If this is still the soft opening, when is the grand opening?

Why are people so nasty? "Is this still the soft opening--when is the grand opening?" Why so hostile? Nobody is forcing you to patronize the place. Go someplace else if you think they are doing a lousy job. I think it's wonderful and very much needed in the neighborhood--though yes, they are still working out the kinks of any new establishment. I also experienced a delay in receiving a drink order--but so what? They were extremely busy, and everyone there is still a new employee. Why is that so hard to understand--and why are several of the commenters so unforgiving of an ambitious new restaurant just getting on its feet?

Never thought this would get to this point so fast.

I was just stating an opinon and a reach out for patience..
Sorry it rustled you.

Most small businesses fail (1/3) in their 1st year.  The failure rate is higher for bars/restaurants.

As to your points:
1.  That's that pizzeras do.  And a lot of them buy frozen dough.
2.   What size restaurant?  How long been open?  Have you seen the size of their tiny kitchen?  Have you been there when they    first opened?  Was everything perfect?
3.   Has everything you've ever done turn out perfect on the first try?
4.   Maybe you should open your own place.

are you guys adults or 5 year olds? critical feedback is mean? literally, anyone who's said anything other than glowing reviews of the place has been called mean. i appreciate the support for small business, i'm all for it, but if it's not good, why can't people give feedback in a public forum to counter the completely positive assessment so other people can make an informed decision about going?

This is becoming a very hot topic.

Bottom line, if it's not your kind of place, DON'T GO.

Let others learn for themselves.

BTW:  I'm through responding to this post.

I think people want the restaurant to succeed.  However, this is NYC and the competition is fierce.  Hopefully, the owners read this site and address some of the concerns raised.  While I was disappointed the last time I went there, I am pretty sure I will go back because I am hoping things get better.

Finally tried the Queensboro! I'm so happy to have it as part of the (wonderful) mix of eateries we have in Jackson Heights; it really offers something the neighborhood did not have before (and it has so much!).

Enjoyed the cocktails very much (a great drinks menu—can't wait to try more of them), the shishito peppers (hard to go wrong there), a lovely creative salad, and two pastas—both perfectly cooked and delicious. We were checked on frequently during the meal, waters were kept full, and I was delighted to see such friendly, seamless service at a place that's so new (and huge). Really liked the warm and neighborhood-y vibe.

I look forward to trying their brunch and returning often for dinner, drinks, and happy hour. Wishing the team behind the restaurant lots of luck and continued success.

Finally made it to Queensboro.  Was on vacation in early July, and just caught up on the posts on this restaurant.  Was surprised at some of the negative posts here...  My experience was very good--I really liked the setting and overall casual vibe of the restaurant.  Service was very good.  I enjoyed the food, having the arugala salad with fresh, quality ingredients, the pasta dish with Shrimp, and the hamburger.  All was delicious...(pasta could have been a little more al dente for me).  With a glass of wine, my bill was a little more than a typical night out in Jackson Heights.  I often go to ethnic eats in the neighborhood and I am often disappointed with the quality.  A similar pasta dish in a Colombian/Uruguayan restaurant is priced higher than the Queensboro.  Overall, I think this is one of the best for quality and value in the neighborhood and also look forward to trying out the brunch.

Wife and I just returned from brunch at the Queensboro.  Food was great and the bloody marys were out of this world.  Will be going back again soon.

I too am surprised by some of the negative reviews here. Of course everyone's entitled to their opinion, but my experience at the QB was great! The service was prompt and attentive (no late or forgotten drinks) - silverware was changed for each course, which always impresses me. Cocktails were inventive and tasty. The food was great too; we got the chaat popcorn (which was the only miss for me - not a ton of flavor and hard to eat [fork or fingers?]), watercress salad (PHENOMENAL, very fresh, surprising flavors), marg pizza (delicious, I don't know what everyone's complaining about), burger (average - not the best we've ever had, but certainly not bad), and a fruit cobbler special. Can't wait to try out the other menu items and will definitely be back for brunch, too. I live a block away... this could get dangerous!

Congrats to Dudley and his team on a job well done!

Hi friends! I haven't updated on here in a long time, sorry about that. I wanted to give everyone here a heads up about some things that have been happening...

First of all, we started featuring live music! My pal, the excellent Jonny Meyers played a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty sweet. His music is phenomenal, and everyone had fun. If you want to hear his stuff, www.jonnymeyersmusic.com will hook you up.

That's Jonny and his crew right there.

It was so much fun that we're repeating it this Friday at 10PM with the John Yao Trio! John is another Jackson Heights-er and he will be playing some sweet jazz and other music on his trombone with his band and it should be lots of fun. You should check out www.johnyao.com to hear his music and learn about him.

Of course if you were on our mailing list you'd know all of this, if you're not on it you should get on it! You can enter your email address right there on www.thequeensboro.com

As a bonus we'll offer anyone who signs up on our email list happy hour drinks every Monday to Thursday from 5-7PM! I'm sort of kidding because if you were on our mailing list you'd know that we already have a happy hour - see how useful if would be to have known that?!

Hopefully see you all soon at The Q!

Considering the posting history of the person who complained, I am not taking it remotely seriously. I am finally going to get a chance to try this place next weekend and am really looking forward to it!
