If I were Armondo's, I'd be pissed. First, someone torches the building, and now their old location is getting replaced by another Italian restaurant that may run them out of town  :o

I seriously doubt "Romeos" will be running anyone out of town.

My bad. Romeos will be running out of town after killing off Tybalt.

You stand corrected.

Yeah, too bad Armondo's could not come back, but they had bad blood with the landlord. They seem to be doing fine in their new location. I just hope Romeo's does not turn out to be just another pizza joint with a few other Italian offerings. I think we have enough pizza places already--what we need is a real restaurant. There seem to be a zillion places called Romeo's Pizza and Italian Restaurant I found via Google, all over the place, but I couldn't find a sign that there was a chain by that name, which is what I was thinking it might be. Even if it's a chain, if it's a good one, it will be a nice addition.

I doubt it's a pizza place, the sign doesn't say pizza, and with the $$$ rent, I don't they could survive on just pizza. I would imagine they will eventually have a liquor license, to help pay the pricey rent.

Pizza was the first thing that came to mind...  especially since the closed Gustoso was run by guy named Romeo.  But as you mentioned, Romeo is a common name in the pizza world of restaurants, so keeping my fingers crossed that it's a full-fledged Italian restaurant instead.

Exactly what I thought lol. There are a lot of Latino Romeos too though. Are we sure it's an Italian restaurant?

The sign says Italian Ristorante. There's a photo of the sign on the JHBG's Facebook page.

Apparently the owner of this restaurant is a 16 year resident of Jackson Heights at least that is what it says on their website.
They are planning to open in the Fall.
