I'd rather spend my "disposable income " at the not so beautiful Tacos Al Suadero or Taqueria Coatzingo where the Mexicanos have their authentic grub and service is great along with amazing food.

  Drinks made with fresh juice are harder to make the difference between a drink made with sour mix and tequila, and a drink made with tequila, Cointreau or Triple Sec and fresh lime juice with amounts of simple syrup for frozen Margaritas is like night and day. And, there's no chemical after-taste. Of course, balance is critical. fresh juice is so concentrated that over-use will destroy the drink.  Unfortunately El Coyote uses sour mix.

FOR ME TO POOP ON!!

I'm somewhere in between the Contessa and the divanatrix (never thought I'd write that in my life).  I went to El Coyote last night with some friends.  While I think the food at Coatzingo is better and more authentic, I still liked the food at El Coyote.  What it offered that is not available at Coatzingo is a more upscale dining experience which, from time to time, I enjoy.  I also liked the fact that my evening started and ended at their bar.  I like having a cocktail before I sit down. The bartender was very nice (and, yes, attractive) and I'll go back at happy hour just to hang.
When I order out or I want that no frills experience, or I want to impress a friend with simple authentic food, I'll choose Coatzingo.  When I want a table cloth, nice decor, friendly service and good food, I'll choose El Coyote.

Why another Mexican Restaurant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We have the best already without all the glitter and $$$$$  Oh well.................I guess the gringos need a place that's a bit more upscale.

That's exactly what it is, when you open up a restaurant you want to have a target audience. Sad but true, why do you think starbucks and e77 opened up in the nice part or jackson heights they target specific people. All places do, that's why Astoria has a lot more restaurants.

I ate at El coyote, don't get me wrong it was a nice place and good experience, plus the service was great (my glass of water was refilled 5 times lol) Food wise some of it is good and its american Mexican food so how amazing can it get it has a typical menu, chilaquiles, quesedilla, and like i say "un monton de otra mierda" but in reality I think we all know it's americanized mexican food, like american chinese food. The real authentic mexican stuff is amazing like pozole, nopales etc... but not everyone would go, thats why the authentic stuff sticks to roosevelt because they know they will get bussiness from the hispanic community. .


I never hate on new food joints, im glad we have more instead of really crappy "boutiques", discount stores, etc...
