Sometimes they don't card you, but I can tell you it's embarrassing if they do and you're not of age.

At the risk of being a tad un-PC, couldn't you just fake a senior moment to cover that?
("What dear? ... oh, my card ... where did I put that?" as you hand them your Blockbuster card or Metrocard ...)

Think before you speak.  Speak your mind.  Mind your business.  Business before pleasure.
Any questions?

Okay young man, smarty pants, all you whipper snappers; once all us boomers are the majority, we'll pay full price and you guys'll be getting the discounts.

A cashier at the 75th Street Trade Fair offered me the senior discount in September, and I have decades before my sixty-fifth birthday. It made for an amusing thread of comments on a Facebook status update.

Where is the cheap Splenda?  Maram and Met were carrying it (100 for $2.99) but the Splenda guy didn't come last week or maybe even the week before that, and they are both out.  Met has the regular, expensive boxed kind.

Re: Super market Deals New Meat Market on Roosevelt!
« Reply #19 on: February 20, 2010, 06:21:11 PM »
There is a new meat market on Roosevelt ( south side between 78/79th)  It has a few grocery and vegetable items and a huge walk in meat locker at the back.  So far I have bought a whole filet mignon $4.99 per pound (very good not excellent) and beef stew meat $1.99 per lb for some great boeuf bourgignon .  The butcher is a nice guy...so now we have this and the butcher at Trade Fair!  Choices!

Finally went to this place.  The meat market in the back is the kind that is a huge room that serves as a cooler for the whole meat and dairy section.  The place looks clean and well cared for, the prices are reasonable.
