Any update on the tenants moving into the retail spaces?  The signs in the ground floor windows are all gone.  Does that mean all the spaces have been taken?

Sadly, and surprisingly, the sun room attached to the old Armondo's space was torn down yesterday.

I read somewhere that they were required to take it down because there wasn't a permit for it. I guess Armondo's had a permit for an indoor sidewalk cafe but since there's no occupant, no permit. It's a shame because it was a very nice space. It came down very quickly.

I'm surprised how long it's taking to get any news on new tenants.

With all that space, the overwhelming popularity of Blink, and the blistering demand...you figure a gym might be looking at renting it. Even something slightly higher end than Blink or Planet Fitness would probably be packed.

I thought they already had some tenants lined up but that they weren't going announce them until much closer to when they open the building.  Isn't one of the s. asian groceries expanding into that space (the one across from Samudra on 37th and 72nd)?

Does anyone know what's happening at the Bruson Building in terms of groceries and restaurants?

A long time ago, the owners, who own quite a lot of property in Jackson Heights, made statements about what kinds of tenants they wanted, and expected, but I have not seen anything since.

If I recall correctly, they wanted major retailers, including when it comes to food, and suggested that there would be a significant high-end grocery operation.

As they come close to opening, anybody know who they have signed with/what we can expect?

Cheers

In addition to a grocery store, they also said that they were looking for big tenants selling fast food.

Anybody know which tenants?

I wonder if the Wendy's that opened by Diversity Plaza was also considering Bruson before they decided on the other spot.

Wendy's is catty-corner from the west end of Diversity Plaza (I believe that is 73rd Street).

It's a nice Wendy's but the food is the same sh*te as any Wendy's. Their red banners in the pedestrian plaza are really annoying and probably illegal use of public space.

On topic, does anyone else think that Bruson doesn't really have many (any?) tenants lined up?  They redid the sidewalks in the Fall, but very little is happening there now. They are also still advertising for tenants.  I wonder if they are asking for exorbitant rents and nobody is biting.

The storefronts look ready to be built out for tenants. Why no movement?

they subdivided so that the furthest east storefront is quite large, and seems to have a planned dedicated entrance. that leads me to believe there is a tenant for that space, perhaps the grocery vendor discussed here. amish market was a name thrown around for a while, but it's too small for even that ,i'd guess.
