Town Hall Meeting To Discuss The Bruson Building

To All:

Senator Jose Peralta, Congressman Joseph Crowley, Assembly Member Michael
DenDekker, and Council Member Daniel Dromm are co-sponsoring a town hall to
discuss the Bruson Building.  The town hall will take place at 7:00 PM on
Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Jewish Center of Jackson Heights, located
at 37-06 77th Street.

Years ago, we would have at least one town meeting a year addressing critical issues affect our community. I guess this will be germane  to the Bruson building but  I wish there were others.  Most important to me right now are the two new  construction projects that will be occurring in our community...the hotel on Broadway and the  White Castle site on 69th street.

town hall meeting

I was unable to attend Thursday's town hall meeting regarding the Bruson building because of work and was wondering if anyone here got the chance to go. I'm interested to know what was discussed and if anything fruitful came out of the meeting.

I am unable to attend but very curious. I would love for there to be a YMCA there.  We are like equally distance between the Flushing, Forest Hills, and Long Island city YMCA's. If you agree, and can go to the meeting, please suggest!

I'd love to see something that would help the community, like a business incubator - something like this, which has been a very successful program:

Well, you certainly could put a huge gym there, considering how packed Blink fitness is. Hopefully with a pool. Yeah.

I am thinking YMCA over a gym with a pool. We certainly could use an indoor pool, but a YMCA can be so much more than a gym. Especially with the baby boom in the neighborhood would be great to have some reasonably priced classes.
