Blessing of the Animals - October 5th - St. Mark's
« on: October 03, 2014, 10:57:38 PM »
Hi all,

This probably goes in Community Activities, but if not, I'm sure the moderators will transfer it.

Yes! In the spirit of St. Francis, Patron Saint of Animals, St. Mark's is having its annual blessing of the animals at the 10:00AM service.

Animals of all kinds, dogs, cats, birds (chickens, too) - in fact, if it can fit through the door (probably not elephants, or camels) may attend. Only if their owners are well behaved!

Sadly, snakes are excluded. Sorry snakes - too much like the Garden of Eden debacle, I think.

In the past this has been a wonderful event, so come on over. The weather will be better on Sunday!

Where? The church on 34th Avenue between 81st & 82nd St. Entrance on 34th Avenue.

It was lots of fun!

JH seems to have more dogs than cats by my very informal count. Either that or a lack of cat carriers.

Sadly, no chickens. . .

My grandson enjoyed it, especially since a dog twice his size wanted to make friends with him!
