I decided to try the egg, ham and cheese breakfast wrap today and liked it very much.  I thought it was pretty large and definitely enough for two.  Not meaning to contradict myself, but on a day that I'm feeling ravenous, I could possibly eat the entire wrap, but I found that accompanied by my usual Latte, 1/2 should be good and quite filling.

Does anyone know if Espresso 77 has any vegetarian food options? Sandwiches, wraps, etc.

I'm pretty sure they also offer a spinach and feta cheese wrap.

Vegetarian question:

I've seen a vegan in there, happily drinking coffee, so possibly there are vegan foods, too.

PM the owners and ask.

Chuckster - you are right. Half and a latte or a whole breakfast wrap and a cup of joe.

Julie here from e77:

We do have vegetarian options and even a few things for vegans:

-hummus and/or eggplant salad with pita and mixed greens
-grilled cheddar and swiss on sourdough
-mozzarella, tomato and basil (as a panini or cold sandwich)
-vegetable wrap
-many of our soups are vegetarian

some of our vegan customers bring in tofu cream cheese for their bagels - if enough people ask, we can start stocking it.  I was very excited to bring in honey hazelnut wafers because with no dairy and no eggs, I thought they would work for vegans, but then I found out that while European vegans eat honey, their American counterparts do not.

with our limited space, we can't carry everything that our hearts desire, but we'll consider any suggestions that people share with us...

Hi Julie
Sounds great! I will stop in for a good veggie sandwich.

By the way, you should offer an extra shot of espresso in a drink for 50 cents.  This way people can get a "red eye" which is  cup of coffee with a shot of espresso.  My partner went into Espresso 77 the other day and was told he would have to pay $4 plus tax for a cup of coffee and one shot of espresso, which is pretty outrageous.  Two dollars for an extra shot? He would like to patronize your coffee shop, but he drinks red eyes and usually pays 50 cents for an extra shot, so regrettably, he goes elsewhere.  Just some friendly feedback!

Rachel

Just an fyi, but no one who is a vegan eats honey, as per the definition of veganism - Europeans and Americans alike.

With that said, I think it's cool you guys at least have vegan options.

That's one point of view...
If you do a search with the words "vegan" and "honey", you will find many sites that explain why it's not quite so cut and dry...

But we digress!

Question of the day:
What do you do if you make fabulous rainbow frosted cupcakes in honor of the Pride parade and no one seems to notice?  You keep selling them during the week!  Even if you are not a cupcake person, you have to check them out - they are super cute and tasty - Gina and Ted outdid themselves!

Julie, the cupcakes sound delish.   And I did google vegan and honey and you're right.  Although most vegans don't, here's an article about those who do and the conflict.  Interesting.  I have a friend who's vegan.  She brought in cakes and sweets that were vegan to work one day.  Really tasty.

I get the reasons for this, but practically it drives me to Star*ucks.  I'll still stop in to e77 if I need coffee and no wifi, but functionally it drives my business down the street.

Stopped by earlier today and tried the Mango Lemonade.  Sat outside on the bench with my wannabe, over-sized lap-dog, and enjoyed my cool, refreshing and delicious beverage.  Two thumbs up!

So I finally got around to trying the breakfast burrito. It was great.  And I eat breakfast burritos all the time at work.  This was much better.  The middle could have been a bit warmer but it wasn't cold so I didn't mind.  Cooking it in the panini griddle gave it that crunchy wrap and the ham wasn't very salty tasty (I don't usually like ham).  And it was big enough that I could only eat half and took the other half home.  Definitely one of the better ones I've eaten.
