« on: August 12, 2021, 05:00:50 PM »
greetings JH,

i fractured a metatarsal and looking for a local podiatrist.  Does anyone know of anyone?  Thank you!

I’m not of patient of his, but do know a few people who have highly recommended Dr. Victor Chen. Google has the following info:

Victor Chen, DPM
33-54 83rd Street
718-335-3495

Maybe someone else can chime in with their experience, or other recommendations.

The folks at The Queens Beer Factory have announced a soft opening date of Friday, June 18th at 8:00PM. If you're on IG, they also have a promotion running. I saw their post an hour after they shared it, so the promotion tickets may have already been given out.  :'(

Happy to read that the plant shop is just relocating. :D Btw, it also seems like the Re-nu Rejuvination place may have closed permanently. Not 100% sure about that, though. I never really saw anyone there even before COVID.

Neighborhood Chat / New shop on 37th Ave?
« on: February 17, 2021, 11:37:19 AM »
I hadn’t noticed until yesterday that the craft/plant shop located near Lety’s Bakery is no more. It’s been gutted, and there were people doing construction work inside when I looked in. I actually enjoyed seeing the daily outdoor plant arrangements and flowers during the warm weather months. It was also my go to place for small plants. I’ll miss the shop, and am now wondering what‘s coming next.

Citi Field vaccine site to open this Wednesday, the 10th. I'm not sure if it's solely designated for Queens residents, though. Does anyone have any more info?

Here’s another source I came across on Twitter for locating restaurants offering heating outdoors. I added The Queensboro.

https://www.findaheatlamp.com/

The Google docs link provided in your post lists more Queens restaurants, though.

Restaurants & Food / Re: Outdoor seating areas that seem like indoors

A sad warning for restaurants. Fully enclosed outdoor dining spaces may be forced to shut down due to increasing Covid hospitalizations in NY.

From Gothamist:

Cuomo Says It's "Probable" Indoor Dining Will Shut Down In NYC As Soon As Next Monday

Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Monday morning that indoor dining will be shut down in New York City "as early as Monday" if the hospitalization rates don't stabilize before then. Indoor dining will also decrease from 50% to 25% in other parts of the state if those regions also don't get hospitalization rates under control.

"Do I believe between now and five days we'll see a stabilization rate in New York City? I would be pleasantly surprised. I don't think it is probable, but it is possible," Cuomo said during the press conference in Midtown on Monday. "Do I think we hit hospitalization criticality and have to close down? I pray no, I hope no, I hope New Yorkers get it before we get there."
