Neighborhood Chat / Re: PLEASE READ: JHL to say goodbye

So sorry to hear this site is closing. It really is the best option out there. There is Next Door Jackson Heights and several Facebook groups but neither has the breadth of content or as useful a structure.

@abcdefghijk, following your logic, I'd say the controversy is between "excessive-noise haters" and "excessive-noise lovers."

I have three different areas (shower, bath floor, kitchen floor) that need grout cleaning and/or regrouting and possibly coloring & sealing of existing grout. I'm not exactly sure what the best solutions are.  We've used Grout Doctor in the past and were very unsatisfied with the results.  Does anyone have suggestions or recommendations?   Many thanks!

Hi, I have a beautiful Moroccan rug which I have had cleaned yearly by a service, but I haven't been all that happy with the results. Does anyone have a rug cleaning service that does these types of rugs and which they are happy with? Many thanks.

Neighborhood Chat / Re: My experience at JH City MD

I had an excellent experience at City MD on Roosevelt this past summer, with very thorough follow-through. I saw Dr. Venegas. I was pretty impressed with the quality of care. Would definitely go back.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! I was wondering where they went! 78 Nail has really gone downhill. These three women are real professionals.

Hi, can anyone recommend a window washing service for exterior windows? (We're on the third floor - windows can be removed by a knowledgeable person if necessary.)

Also, we're looking to install soundproof windows -- I've looked at Citiproof -- wondering if anyone has experience with them or another company they liked?

Thanks!

Deborah

These sweethearts lost their mom unexpectedly, and we want to help find them a loving home. Read about them below, and if you know of a good family for them, let us know!....

Banjo and moon are closely bonded brothers that were adopted from the ASPCA last year. They are six years old and they love people. Banjo is especially friendly and climbs in your lap as soon as he meets you and loves belly rubs. Moon is friendly too, though a tad more independent. They are tiny - about 7 pounds each. They must be indoor cats. They are healthy and eat Prescription Diet food. They are a type of polydactyl - they have a few extra toes which just makes them cuter.

We have a lot of cat “accessories” – a practically new cat tree, food bowls, litter boxes, lots of toys, and even cat shelves which were never installed. The cats also have pet insurance which can be directly transferred to the new owner(s) if they want.

Real Estate & Home Improvement / Re: Dunnolly Gardens
« on: September 21, 2017, 12:35:14 PM »
The garden at Dunnolly Gardens is not a playground. While the co-op is certainly child-friendly, there have been many complaints about the use of the garden for noisy play that unfairly disturbs other residents. This has become a major problem over the last several years due to real estate agents and others promoting the garden as a playground. Please do not add to this false impression. The board is currently reviewing garden rules so that all residents can enjoy the use of the gardens and their apartments.

Oh, yes, have definitely taken this to the board. Multiple times. And will continue to do so.
