Neighborhood Chat / GC stationery is closing
« on: June 12, 2021, 11:13:39 PM »
I saw the store sign that the owner is retiring so everything is 50% before the doors close one last time. A lovely small business and it's a stationery store too!

I live in another part of Queens, but I hope to ask for guidance here. I live in a condo and my upstairs neighbhor (who's diagnosed with schizophrenia) has been causing water damages to my bathroom and hallway ceilings by intentionally clogging her toilet.  It happened 10 times last year, but never as bad as two weeks ago when water was pouring down and the FDNY had to come because water was getting into the bathroom light.  They got her attention by breaking her window and found it was a 'clogged toilet'.  It happened again today, but this time, FDNY didn't do anything since my ceiling was taken out (was planning to fix it up and test for mold), so no water through the light fixture.  They just shrug their shoulders and left. I was in disbelieved and extremely stress. I know I can take legal action, but yes, money. Besides that, are there other organizations and public help that I could reach out to? My sanity is on fine line and i can't fix anything if she keeps torturing us like this.  Although she has a mental illness, my family and I are the victims here.

Thanks for listening.

Neighborhood Chat / Robbery in drugstore
« on: February 20, 2021, 08:33:15 PM »
I was shopping at a Rite Aid on Kissena Blvd., while it's not in JH, I thought it's important PSA to let people know about this incident. As I was paying, a manager was screaming at a male, telling him he just called the cops and will arrive soon. It turned out this guy was swiping merchandises into his backpack with in intention of stopping. I was freaking out, but my transaction was already in process, so just praying this guy didn't have any weapon. He continued to steal as I left. That's why drugstores are locking up merchandises and having security guards at entrance now. So everyone just be alert and be safe. Yes these employees are just as essential and also our everyday heroes. This manager wasn't afraid and approached the perpetrator. Thank God nothing happened.

This is a helpful map for anyone who would like to donate any food items.

I think I may start baking and making sandwiches now ;)

Who’s excited to finally get a trim...or a drastic cut? Or still trying to be cautious and wait awhile before returning to your favorite salon/barbershop?

Restaurants & Food / Where to buy okra?
« on: March 29, 2020, 04:52:45 PM »
Now that Patel Brothers will be closed for 10 days (hopefully), where else can I buy okra? They have the best quality at the right price. I went to another supermarket and price gouged at $5 a pound!  >:(
