The Leverich Family Burial Ground is an abandoned 17th-century historical site in the heart of Jackson Heights, Queens. Join us to reimagine this space! Neighbors, artists, gardeners, volunteers and activists are invited to organize and/or participate in weekly activities (rain or shine).
SPECIAL ACTIVITY: Community in Bloom
Join our new garden community this Saturday for a full day of cross-pollinating FREE activities:
- local artist Carlos Amador a.k.a. Honexl Art will unveil the first mural in the entrance of the cemetery called Pachamama,
- guest artist Lina Montoya and the LMProject will complete the installation of Mariposas Amarillas,
- a historian of the Leverich Family Burial Ground will visit us to meet and greet the community,
- local artists Carlos Martinez and Beatriz Gil from Hibridos Collective will continue hosting a community dialogue in the new AGORA,
- gardeners and volunteers will finalize the clean-up, plant new flower gardens, and design landscape features.
We will provide coffee, fruits, water, juice and snacks!
Bring a friend to give a helping hand or just come to make new neighbors!
