Has anyone successfully removed a co-owner's name from your co-op unit? What are the steps? With the co-owner's consent, of course.

Thank you.

Does anyone have experience removing a co-owner of your own co-op unit? What are the steps to move from co-owning shares to becoming the sole owner?

I have the co-owner's consent, of course.

Thank you.

Neighborhood Chat / Rogue private garbage truck on 37th Ave
« on: February 05, 2015, 01:33:37 PM »
One night in early October I was walking down 37th Ave when a garbage truck was doing its runs down the same street. It had a private name (i.e. not city) and numerous guys popped in & out wearing t-shirts and umbro-type shorts. They picked up garbage at Jackson Diner and Subzi Mandi, among other businesses. The reason they caught my attention was they accelerated though red lights (not ones changing from yellow to red but RED LIGHTS) *and* each time they stopped to do a pickup the truck parked diagonally, totally blocking traffic from behind. I purposely avoided crossing the street while they were around.

The name was printed on the side of the truck tho I don't remember it. Anyone witnessed or familiar with the rogue garbage truck?

Real Estate & Home Improvement / Floor Sanding & Compliance
« on: July 04, 2012, 12:37:39 PM »
Hello! Does anyone have experience with floor sanding in your co-op recently?  My co-op requires contractors to be EPA certified in compliance with lead poisoning prevention.  Does the EPA certification apply to sanding and glossing floors?

Thanks!

Neighborhood Chat / Co-op's first flea market. We need advice!
« on: January 04, 2009, 01:37:19 AM »
Our co-op will hold its first ever flea market in late April/early May 2009. We have heard that sellers need to sign a contract before participating. Does anyone know where I may obtain a sample contract?

2nd, we don't want our flea market date to conflict with that of another co-op. Do any of the other co-ops hold their flea market as early as April/May?

Many thanks!

Real Estate & Home Improvement / the residences at jackson heights
« on: March 09, 2008, 01:37:35 AM »
when i first came across the website advertising "the residences," i thought it was a joke! first, i hadn't noticed anything different about the area (37th ave & 73rd st)...and that roof deck doesn't look like anything in JH. i wonder if this development is contained to select units in a co-op. does anyone know about the residences?

here's the site: http://jacksonheightsliving.com/
