Restaurants & Food / Re: Craft Cocktails

Sorry tell you but there is no good cocktail lounge here in Jackson Heights. At least not the kind that most people on this forum would be interested in like Amaru. In case no one knows Amaru was opened by the same people who own pio pio. Back in 94' no one would have imagined this small immigrant family owned business would take off as it did. Now with locations all over the city I'd say the opposite it true about the changing of the neighborhood. When I take the E train in the morning I see the same exact kinds of people taking the train as I did when I was a kid. Yes young non Latinos are moving in but not so much that they effect the neighborhood. That's why these cocktail lounges you seek won't really happen here at least until another 10 years from now in my opinion. And there happens to be plenty of places to have brunch just don't expect to go out for avocado toast or eggs Benedict.

I've also found it helpful to just talk to the people who work there about where I can find certain kinds of food because most places generally serve the basics like tacos, tortas, huaraches, etc. But if you're looking for something like a really well made pambazo you may have to ask around.

AquĆ en Bella Puebla
Tacos Morelos
Tortilleria Nixtamal
Tortas Neza

These are some of the best places in the city to get Mexican food and it all right here in Jackson Heights!

Neighborhood Chat / Re: What would be a successful business?

I have always considered starting up a consulting agency to offer low cost help to struggling businesses in the area or for anyone who feels as though they could do more with their restaurant/bar/hospitality establishment. It would not just benift the business owner by helping them get their place of business making profit but it would help boost the community as well. Consequently, more business would come your way and Jackson Heights would benefit from all the people coming from all over to go to that new Bolivian spot with the crazy sandwiches, or the Ecuadorian place who has special ceviche nights where they marinate the fresh fish table side. I couldn't help but go on but it's just an idea I've had for a while now.
