Who the hell is "Augie". I know all the people your talking about through all the generations. But unless your using a fictitious name you must have been on the outside looking in. What about the good things the Splendon's did such as dancing in the back of the note cleaning up the neighborhood where the club was. Don't even mention Bert Lowenstein in the same breath with us. He was a PS 69 resident who could throw a descent bowling ball. I knew him and liked him , but he was not one of us. I still don't know who you are and don't care but the guy's you spoke the worst of were and in some cases the best of my friends. I believe you mentioned my name. If you had any courage you would mention your name in a private email so I know who I'm jousting with.

All 3 with 82th st lady (One of my favorite ladies, glad your still with us kid). Boy, did we have fun in those places Especially with Old Harry Martin (Rest his Sole). You would drink all night for nothing or he would charge for every drink, with no buybacks (Early Dementia I believe). If you don't believe me ask Davey A. Harry was kind of rough on the outside but a real sweet guy on the inside, I knew him well. I was drinking in that place before I was 16. With a phony draft card that is. Fond memories of drinking, dancing and occasionally fighting later at the Note (Which now I'm not to proud of).

Augie; You have related to these people like you had known them very well and in some cases put some of them down and sat across from the post office that doesn't mean that you knew them closely like I had. In most cases, as well as the Splendon Social Club you couldn't be more incorrect. As far as the "Note" that was before the club. All what you call "Troublemakers:came from the neighborhood. Because of happy hour all tom, Dick & Harry's came from outside the neighborhood for I/2 price drinks and in some cases cause trouble. Do you think the Management would have put up with us as long as they did if we didn't protect their bar. May'be you were correct in some cases, but that was before the Club and in many cases things were started by other groups. Later when the splendon Club was opened we were just trying to be alone protecting our own with some outside invited friends. Augie (As you related your name) ain't going to do it. Unless it it a fictitious name I never heard of you. If you have known these people and have something to say send me a personal message or go on with your fictitious rambling that you remember (Or you heard). Were you there?
