Pets and Animals / Re: have a veterinarian you'd recommend?
« on: June 14, 2017, 01:22:20 PM »
I wanted to thank posters for steering me in the direction of Dr. Berman who comes to your home.  He is wonderful, I highly recommend him and his staff. They were so helpful I still can't believe it.  http://otgvs.otgvs.com/

I also had a very good experience with Astoria Veterinary Group on Steinway, they are open late which is awesome.  Know it is a VERY busy place.

I like Dr. Tello & his staff at Noah's Ark, but I cannot recommend him.

Me too if you would care to share.  Thanks!

Probably not.  Have you asked to see the meeting minutes?  You should review and get some history about the projects, you shouldn't assume the worst.  Be informed.

Can you get rid of a modem?  I used to need two to get internet throughout my apartment (I tried everything), I got an eero  system a few months ago and it works perfectly.

You should do some more research, the majority of 1 bedrooms are over 300k.   Anything in the 250k area, which are few, seem to need a major reno and not be in the greatest of buildings.  I'm in the 80s and the last time a one bedroom sold for under 300k in the building was 3 years ago.

Pets and Animals / Re: Poll: best litter box for apartment?
« on: November 18, 2016, 03:52:06 PM »
I think it is more about the litter than the box.  I use feline pine and it is SO much better than scooping, but not the best for odor control, just dump the whole box every few days.  One of my older cats decided he didn't like it any more and I have just started using litter made from walnut shell and it is amazing.  No smell, not a pain to scoop (some are horrible and the litter smell is awful), doesn't track much.  Good luck with your kitty!

Real Estate & Home Improvement / Re: Coop Board Question

You would be a sub-letter, and there is a no subletting rule.  Period.  There are many reasons for that type of rule and as a board member, I can see why your board wouldn't want make an exception. This is not a little rule.  Also that is coop living, I wouldn't be upset with the board, you received the building's rule prior to purchasing.

Neighborhood Chat / Re: 74th St Station, lines for the Q49 Bus

Thanks, this is what I have gathered about the "rogue" line as well.  Recently I was in the regular line and the bus doors literally closed on me, making me the 1st, and I felt really weird!  Like I robbed the the rogue line folks of something. I was swarmed.

There are the MTA guys in the booth that sporadically help direct bus/people traffic.  I figured it must be a thing because they never say anything.  I miss the one MTA who was really good in moving people and buses, haven't seen him in a while.

Hello, I have lived here a few years and am still not clear about how the way people form into two lines works. I would appreciate any insight.  Thanks.
