JH Orchestra is ready for their second concert. Come join us March 13th at the United Methodist Community Church. The concert will start at 7:30 and will feature local baritone John Petrozino. We will be performing works by Piccinni, Donizetti, Wagner, local composer James Cohn, Faure, and Gounod. Reception will follow in the church's social hall. There is a suggested donation of $10 and $5 for seniors and student. We had almost 150 at the first concert. Come see how we have grown. The JHO continues to run under the banner of the JHGB. Thank you everyone for all your support. See you on the 13th.

Our first concert is Dec 12 at 7:30 at the United Methodist Community Church on 35th and 81st.  Will post more info shortly.

Finally went to El Coyote for the first time last night.

It hit all my must-haves including warm even lighting, cozy ambience, just right noise level even with music in the background, excellent service, good food, good drinks.  Will definitely go back.

REMINDER!

Orchestra auditions will take place on September 11,12 and 18 from 6 to 9pm at the Methodist Community Church on 35th Avenue between 81st and 82nd Streets.

All instruments needed. Adults and mature students welcome. Please prepare a short piece that shows your technique and musicianship.

Hello all. 

Remember how much you enjoyed playing in your high school or college orchestra?  Would you like to be part of a new ensemble?

In collaboration with the JHBG, I am organizing a community orchestra and looking for musicians of all orchestral instruments.  The orchestra is being formed to perform classics and reflect the rich diversity of the Jackson Heights community.

Auditions will be held at the Methodist Community Church on September 11, 12 and 18 from 6 to 9PM each day.
