The Jewish Center of Jackson Heights is thrilled to announce its next concert,

Join us for a colorful evening of a Pride Concert Celebration.

The recital will feature some of the New York finest talented musicians with a repertoire of Classical, Broadway and popular songs; The music of some LGBT composers will be performed and sun by guest singers; Hamid Rodriguez, Ricardo Rosa, Ricardo Stevan, Phillip Deyesso, and accompanied by Juan Valencia, Pianist and Music Director. 5 artists with a combination of several years of dedication and expertise in the Performing Arts world.

HAMID RODRIGUEZ, Tenor
Hamid Was Born in San Germa¡n, Puerto Rico, began his musical studies at the Interamerican University of San Germán, Puerto Rico. He continued studies at the Conservatory of Puerto Rico with the famous Baritone Justino Di­az. In Puerto Rico and the USA, he has performed several leading opera roles: Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte, Federico in Lamico Fritz, The Sailor in Dido and Aeneas, The Witch in Hansel und Gretel, the tenor solo of The Messiah, The Sheperd in Laude per la Nativita by Respighi, the tenor solo in the Missa solemnis in C by W.A. Mozart, Principe di Persia in Turandot at the Casals Festival, Rui in Macias at the Festival Iberamericano de las Artes and Normano in Lucia di Lammermor with Opera de Puerto Rico. He was invited to sing the tenor solo in the Requiem of W.A. Mozart at the 90th Anniversary of Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. He had the opportunity to sing Casio, in an Othello scene, in the Gala Concert of the famous tenor Roberto Alagna. He sang Remendado in Carmen, Messenger in Aida, Borsa in Rigoletto, Arturo in Lucia di Lammermor, Goro in Madama Butterfly and the tenor soloist in the Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with Gateway Classsical Music Society. He was invited to sing Alfredo in La Traviata in the production of the New Jersey City University. Also sang Remendado with Opera of the Hamptons and Expresso Opera and Pang in Turandot with New Rochelle Opera.Hamid Rodríguez resides in New York City


RICARDO ROSA, Baritone
is a native of Caguas ,Puerto Rico. He started his musical background in the Escuela Libre de Musica Antonio Paoli. He earned his musical degree from the University of Puerto Rico and further his studies in voice with Mr. Justino Diaz at the Conservatorio de Musica de Puerto Rico, Mignon Dunn and Diana Soviero in New York. His musical repertoire ranges from Opera, Arts Songs, Oratorio and Zarzuelas. He has performed an array of roles ,including John the Baker in the world premier of The Queen's Mirror composed by Robert Milano; David in Samuel Barbera's A Hand of Bridge;Peter in Hansel und Gretel by Humperdick; David in Mascagnia's La'amico Fritz ;the Mandarin to Alessandras Marca's Turandot for the Casals Festival and the baritone solo in Carmina Burana for the 25th Anniversary of Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico. In New York ,Escamillo from the Opera Carmen by Bizet with Espresso Opera and Sound Symphony; Giorgio Germont from La Traviata by Verdi with The Martina Arroyo Foundation Prelude to Performance; The Father in a premier in Israel of the American Opera Lost Chilhood by Janice Hamer ;Scarpia in Tosca by Puccini, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly by Puccini and Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni with Regina Opera ;Sharpless with Opera of the Hamptons, Gateway Classical Music Society , Bleecker Street Opera , Northern Dutchess Symphony and Regina Opera ; Marcello in La Boheme by Puccini with Tribeca Opera Company NY and Teatro Lirico de Europa at The Ruth Erckerd Hall , Florida; Conte Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart with Prelude to Performance NY and Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni with Regina Opera and Altoona Symphony Orchestra in Pennsylvania . He has performed as a soloist in Viva Verdi Gala Concert, Gala Honoring to Paquito D’Rivera in the Jumeirah Essex House, Amigos de la Zarzuela 25th Anniversary in Carnegie Hall, Opera and Songs concerts with Allegro Singers in Weil Arts Gallery, Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance, Viva Madrid with Corporacion de las Artes Musicales PR, Requiem of Faure at the University of Puerto Rico's Choir 60th Anniversary . Among the most important roles of Zarzuela performed, Curro in Curro el de Lora with The Greenwich Village Orchestra in NY premier in America; Juan Pedro in La Rosa del Azafran , Jose Dolores / Esclavo in Cecilia Valdes with Fundacion de Zarzuela y Operetta de Puerto Rico; Juan el Indiano in Los Gavilanes with Pro-Arte Lirico; Nhuredin in El Asombro de Damasco with Festival Iberoamericano de las Artes,PR.

RICARDO STEVAN, Singer
Singer, actor, producer, host and graphic disigner, Ricardo Stevan, graduated as an Actor in "Actores" Theatre School (Barranquilla - Colombia,  Graduated as Stage Director at the Center Florida University (Boca Raton -Florida). Art History Degree, Complutense University of Madrid - Spain 1998) Graphic Designer at Unitec (Bogota- Colombia 2002). Winner like "Best Actor" on Aruba´s Theatre Festival 1994. Creator of the arts School "Fabrica de Estrellas" Bogota Colombia 2002 - 2012. Winner of the Medal "Democracy Order" Colombian Congress. Winner of the Bronce Medal in the singing, the World Champions ship 2012 in Hollywood California. Singer Invited to the Colombian Independence Festival of Los Angeles, 2012. Singer Invited to the Colombian Independence Festival of Long Island and New York Singer Invited to the New York Fashion Week and Washington Fashion Week 2014. He has been part of this Musical Theatre Productions. Los Funerales de la Mama Grande, Macbeth, El Principito, Sweeny Tood, el Bosque Encantado, la Antologi­a de la Zarzuela, Se Vende Apartamento y la Batalla de las Hadas. Stevan Actually is next to share to the world his first album named "MÍRAME A LOS OJOS", producted by "Andrws Minera, David Bisbal, Mixed by the Grammy Winner "Iker Ganstaminza and Mastering by the Grammy Winner "Mike Couzzi".

PHILIP DE DEYESSO, Singer
He is a current Queens resident, calling Jackson Heights home. He is a Broadway performer, pop singer and actor with several years of performing experience in musical theater. Philip just returned from performing, for the last year and a half, in Asia. Some of his career credits include: La Cage aux Folles, Altar Boyz, Children of Eden, and Phantom. He is hard at work preparing for the debut of his one-man show, coming late July.

JUAN VALENCIA, Pianist and Music Director,
Juan was born in Colombia, he started his piano studies at the age of 5 at Bellas Artes. Juan studied at the Ohio State University, School of Music with a full scholarship. While he was a student he received several awards and recognitions. In 1994 Juan took master classes with the Russian pianist Nikita Magaloff at the University of Chicago. Juan was invited to perform at auditoriums, concert halls, museums, churches, high schools, and more, he has performed in several USA cities as well. Juan Valencia was part of the Fee Support Artist Program. sponsored by the Ohio Arts Council during the 1994 season. Mr. Valencia prepared two successful tours in the state of New Jersey, playing a total of 40 concerts. He was sponsored by the Staten Island Council on the Arts and Humanity to perform 10 concerts (Staten Island Tour). He is the Artistic and Music Director for the vocal ensemble Two Sopranos and One Mezzo as well as Two Tenors and One Baritone. Juan has 25 years of experience working for churches of different denominations as Music Director. He works as a freelance musician.
