We moved from Astoria and I really miss the nicer restaurants that had brunch on Sundays. Boy, do I miss Fatty's brunch 
I would also love to have...
...a bookstore within walking distance (but I'm grateful for short ride to the Barnes & Nobles in Forest Hills)
...a good salad/smoothies place
...less noise on the streets (what's up with all the honking?!)
...a wine bar
...more neighborhood cafes like Espresso 77
That said, there are great perks about living here...
... Inner Peace rocks!
... the uruguyan place on 86th & 37th has great ceviche
... unbelievable steak at la Boina Roja
... lots of transportation options
AND
... being able to "own" our place (to the extent you really own a coop) which is the number one perk! And for that, I guess we can cook our own brunch... for now
