Where to buy a tortilla press?
« on: August 10, 2012, 04:44:48 PM »
I love cooking mexican and think I would like to try my hand at home made tortillas. Anywhere in the neighborhood to purchase a press? I know I can buy one online but thought someone might know. Also if anyone else makes them any input?? Also any good recipes that doesn't call for shortening? thanks!

I bought mine on Amazon, but I know that Mi Tierra on 81st & 34th sells them.  Not sure if they're currently in stock.  The brand is IMUSA, which is the same brand I have.

You can also find them in most of the South Asian supermarkets.  I know Patel Brothers has them - they are in the aisle that has pots and pans.  They have small and large ones - my mom bought one there last time she was in town.

These are relatively inexpensive but Ebay also has tons of them
