I'm looking for a miniature poodle, preferably female and brown/apricot color.  Any suggestions, breeders, or recommendations are greatly appreciated.  thanks in advance!

You can get a poodle that has already been cleared by a Veterinarian and evaluated as to its personality by going to www.petfinder.com, and searching all the local shelters under that particular breed (see left side of screen).

That way you will have a lovely pet and also rescue a homeless doggie that needs  and is deserving of love.

I got my toy poodle by consistently going to the NY, NJ & Conn. poodle club websites.  Besides listing breeders they all have a rescue section if you want one older than a puppy which I did.  I didn't have time to housebreak.

It took a couple of months but I got a pedigreed poodle from the Conn. club.  He was considered a "rescue" even though he was bought thru a breeder.  I didn't want to get a "poodle" from one of the shelters because I wanted a pure poodle because I have asthma and didn't want a dog that looked like a poodle but was actually a mix breed.

My dog was 4 yrs old.  Had never been treated as a loved pet but was a working dog: show dog first then breeding dog later.  He lived his life in a cage... until he met me.  Took a few months to teach him how to be a pet but he's so smart (most poodles are) and so funny and affectionate.  I just love him.  It's going on 3 years that I've had him and I couldn't be happier.
First, do no harm.
