Long Island City Eateries
« on: February 22, 2010, 02:00:23 PM »
Always on the hunt for something new to try... this time I come across the following article on a new bagel place in Long Island City called, Bread Box.  Not sure if this is one of those online hokey type articles promoting a less than exciting business.  That said, the description of Breadbox does sound interesting.  I love bagels, and this place seems to be offering that and more.  Have any of JHL's traveling food experts tried this place yet?  It does have a 3 1/2 star Yelp rating.

Cozy bagel shop comes to Long Island City

Also, anyone have any recommendations on must-try dishes at LIC's Cafe Henri?  I had a chicken and roasted veggie sandwich the last time I was there, but wasn't overly impressed.  Maybe I ordered the wrong thing.

Haven't been for awhile, but when I go to Cafe Henri I order the crepes. Also had a nice soup there once, I think it was asparagus.

Do you know of a French bakery in LIC, I think it was called eclaire's, but I can't find it again.

Curbed.com has a photo of the Bread Box in Long Island City.  BTW, I posted about it above.  This place is actually located on the site of an old auto body shop.  The exterior still kind of looks like that.
