Sad to say, we'll never get a book store. I'm in publishing, and it's drying up. Bookstores are now the yuppie equivalent of high-end coffee shops 10 years ago, and it takes an affluent neighborhood to support one. But there is the guy who sells used books in front of the Met on 37th sometimes--though for the preservation of my own job I shouldn't be advocating used books. Buy new! If not from indies, then from publisher's websites! Thanks for helping me pay my mortgage...

After renting in Manhattan for 15 years, and looking for apartments in Jackson Heights since last spring, we just got the board approval today!

The attorneys are working on the closing date and I am so looking forward to moving into this neighborhood.

First thing I did after I learned that we got approved by the board, I wrote to Borders, New York Sport Club, AMC theater, Whole Food, and Trader Joe's asking them to consider opening a store in Jackson Heights.
It will be great if I have these dream stores here in Jackson Heights. Then I probably really won't miss Manhattan at all!!

Boy oh boy oh boy...Perhaps we could knock down a few affordable housing bldgs. to make room an Applebee's next to a Chili's too.  I have to agree with the other posts on here:  you should probably live here first.  Trust me: With an open mind, a little explorer spirit, you won't miss Manhattan.  And if you do, it's only a 15-minute ride away...

Here's an opportunity to state your favorite NYC neighborhood to reside in.  Poll results will be published in the April 12th issue of New York Magazine.  One thing... I'm not sure why so much information is needed to submit answers.

Jackson Heights - love it, so that was my choice.
