Chuckster you have to be "in the mood for pizza"!   For me that's like saying I have to be in the mood for air.  I LIVE FOR PIZZA.

Jeff, I will have to try this place just on principle that if it is good pizza, then I must eat it.  No ifs ands or buts... MUST EAT PIZZA.

First, do no harm.

Just got a delivery from Louie's.....a regular pie, agnolotti with creamy pesto sauce and one slice of margharita.  Thankfully I will no longer have to make a trip to Willamsburg or Astoria for pizza because Jackson Heights now has a great pizzeria! The pizza is not the only thing that's wonderful at Louie's the homemade pasta is sublime the delicate agnolotti with creamy pesto sauce is not to be missed!  Yeah Louie's

I'm like Chuckie, I have to be in the mood for pizza - Don't get me wrong I LOVE GOOD PIZZA but unfortunately i rarely find a good slice.  I like my slice to be thin crusted (extra thin), flavorful sauce but not overrun with it and it should not be reheated to get it crispy on the bottom.  I don't like all that fancy stuff on it that makes it taste like a pepper sandwhich...

There's a Pizza show on right now on the food network...Grimaldis..Yummy

NYC Native you may like the margherita pizza at Louie's it's crust is thin, sauce flavorful but not messy, fresh mozzarella cheese and a sprinkling a fresh basil leaves.
Grimaldi's is one of my son's favorite pizzas IMHO they do make a great brick oven pizza.

I'll try to make it to Louie's tomorrow since I have to spend a few hours in the area taking photos and making sure an apartment is clean.  Contessa, You must read minds  :o - I'm a fan of Margarita pizza but most places don't make it and many of those that make it seem to make it thicker than it should be.

Come on Buddy, it's not like it's a Cuban sandwich!!!   ;D  Pizza lovers... I'm only kidding.  I like a good, crispy thin slice but without the burn on the bottom.  The less sauce and minimal cheese the better.  Cheese is good, but I don't like oil dripping or a soggy crust that usually accompanies oily pizza.

I've been to Louie's, but have only tried the pasta so far.  Will have to go back for pizza.

Editing to add:  I can't believe that my pizza likes are similar to NYC Natives!!  I'll have to make adjustments.    ::)

I, like so many others, really like pizza.  But I have never been one to make too much of a fuss of where I get my pizza from (just as long as it isn't from one of those godawful chains).  While pizza from all the local places varies a bit, to me they are all pretty much the same. As the saying goes, six of one or a half dozen of the other.  So I tend to go to the place that is the most convenient for me.

I have been reading about Louie's on this thread and this past weekend I decided to give his pizza a go.  I thought the pizza was very nice.  I think Louie's pizza was a step up from the other local places.  They clearly enjoy what they do and take pride in their food.  And there is an added bonus, the pizza is very reasonably priced.  I paid $14 for a pizza with sausage.  Where I usually go they charge $20 for the same thing.

Nice job Louie's.  You have got my business.

I'll give it a try next time I'm in the old neighborhood but I've never found a slice of pizza in Jackson Heights that blew me away. Brooklyn and Staten Island have superior pizza. The best I've had in Queens is Rosa's Pizza in Maspeth.

I just discovered Louie's on Baxter St.  I ordered the Linguini Seafood last week for $9.50.  It's was awesome.  I've been going every day and ordering.  I said to the owner, "why isn't it $19.50."  "No one here has money."  "I'll have to close the store."  I've dined in the finest Italian Restaurants in Manhattan and I know good Italian.  I'm Italian.  I don't eat pizza so I never had it but it looked decent.   In 4 Star Italian restaurants in Manhattan you can't get a glass of bottled water for $9.50.
