The 115th Precinct has a new commanding officer -- John Lavelle.  I think he'll be speaking tonight at the CB3 meeting... it would be interesting to hear what his plans are for Roosevelt Ave.

Crime fighter to bring justice to Queens

For 26 years, he has fought crime and struggled to bring justice to Brooklyn's streets.

Now Deputy Inspector John Lavelle, the new commanding officer of the 115th Precinct, hopes to bring peace of mind to the residents of Jackson Heights, East Elmhurst and North Corona.

His biggest challenge might be topping the precinct's impressive 2007 record, which saw an overall drop in serious crimes of 10.2%.
