Private English Teacher / Writer Teacher Needed

High School Student in JH needs 1:1 Tutor

Hi, I am a senior in a local high school.
I need to work on my essay and paper writing - especially organization, grammar and spelling.
Was diagnosed with Dyslexia and have had tutoring before but want to polish up my writing before I go to college.
Would like to work with an English teacher or Special Education teacher.
Certification preferred.

Would like to work with someone on a one-to-one basis either weekly or biweekly during the summer and perhaps even into the fall.
Fees and work site negotiable.
Please reply as soon as possible so we can get started.

Hi,
I think I might be able to help you. I am a graduate of Indiana University in French and English, and now I am in grad school working towards becoming a therapist. I currently work with kids, and I have a lot of language teaching experience. I love to write and read, and have always been quite good at it, but I struggled a lot in in school until I got to college. I have ADHD and could not adapt my learning style until I had the freedom of college courses. I understand what it is like to have difficulty in school, and I think it is great that you are motivated to improve your writing skills, because this will help you in so many ways in the future. I have a pretty busy schedule but I could meet with you once a week in Jackson Heights, if you are interested in working with me. Honestly, I was not really looking for extra work, I was actually just interested in helping, because what you need is one of the few things that I do really well.

Your offer sounds exciting. However, my son's school would like him to be taught by a certified teacher so they can give him credit for the work. This would be the ideal. We are therefore also looking for the private teacher to continue on thought the school year.
