Senator Gianaris to Renew Call for Suspended License Driver Crackdown After Another Deadly Crash in Queens

(Queens, NY) In the wake of yet another deadly crash in Queens involving a driver with a suspended license, Senator Michael Gianaris will join elected officials, community groups and transportation safety advocates to push for swift passage of his legislation cracking down on chronically reckless drivers with suspended licenses. This renewed effort follows the tragic death of Angela Hurtado, killed by a driver with a suspended license making an illegal turn. Senator Gianaris will be joined by Assemblymember Marge Markey, who will introduce the legislation in the State Assembly, Councilwoman Liz Crowley, Transportation Alternatives Executive Director Paul Steely-White, Make Queens Safer, the Maspeth Chamber of Commerce, and COMET (Communities of Maspeth and Elmhurst Together).
