while their choice isn't broad at all, the roses, daisies and poms at the deli @ 76 and 37 are inexpensive and fresh enough that i always get over a week from them.

I saw this place in the 90s and roosevelt. not sure if they were flowers rather than just "plants". don't know they are good or not.

It is a bit of a schlep -- but the best deal in town is the bodega on 37th Ave and like 94th or 95th on the northern side of the street.  2 dozen fresh roses (many different colors to choose from) for $9 last time I went in the summer. Yes, $9 for two dozen!

Ultima can be hit or miss on 37th Ave and 80th (?) street.  I used to be a big fan but last few times it wasn't really doing it for me.

Also, the grocery store on Northern and 87th has a flower vendor out front.  They are pretty descent and affordable.  I make my own bouquets and he wraps them up for me.

Sadly, I am not really into baby's breath and carnations otherwise I would be in luck.

I second the Deli on 76th and 37th ... always good for a quick stop on Mothers Day.  Or Turkey Day.  Etc.
Think before you speak.  Speak your mind.  Mind your business.  Business before pleasure.
Any questions?
