Need your knowledge of what's gone on in JH during pandemic
« on: January 08, 2021, 11:16:00 PM »
I am helping put together a record of Jackson Heights during the pandemic. Please DM me with answers to either or both of the following questions if you have anything to contribute. Or you can just add a message to this thread.

1) Do you know of any local organizations, groups, even companies that have been established because of the pandemic? For example, the COVID Care Network and some food banks. But it doesn't have to be groups providing food or volunteer help. Whatever services or products they're offering, let me know if you're aware of other groups established in past year.

2) Which stores/businesses in JH still seem to always have a line outside? We all probably remember the lines outside all the grocery stores last spring -- those have ended. But do you still see a line at certain places most of the time you pass or go there?

For both questions, I am looking for places and organizations in Jackson Heights.

THANKS

UPS Store on 83rd always has a line.

There are some people who make masks who sell online via Facebook, and there's one maker who sets up sometimes outside of Dime bank.

I've seen evidence on FB that there are more home cooks in the neighborhood who are trying to sell their food items via FB or word of mouth. I imagine it's not allowed by Dept of Health, but I don't think anyone is cracking down.
