Sami hasn't been there when i've walked by, but the inside demolition looks pretty thorough. i agree that it seems like a full on change in direction, more than a change in cuisine.

Saw a new awning being put on today. Can't exactly remember but maybe it's El Toum? Sounds Lebanese right? Nice red color.

Wow I'm going to run out there and look! I wonder if it's an actual restaurant or a takeout place--either way it will be great and I do hope it's open more hours than Juju's was towards the end.

I would very much welcome a Lebanese take out.  I don't need to dine in.   I'm convinced it will be a success.

Agreed, I like the idea of a take out place, especially a cuisine we currently don't have ; Lebanese ! and someone running it who is already familiar w/ JH

Something like Souk El Shater in Sunnyside would be great.

that's an all time favorite. their baba and house-made lahmajun are my go-to treats.

Yes the new banner is 'El Toum'  I read that Toum is a traditional Lebanese garlic sauce.

,
Pretty much everything there is awesome. Baba ganouj, chicken pies, meat pies, shawarma, kofta in yogurt sauce.

Its the smelliest, most pungent sauce I've ever had. And it so delicious. I always get extra at Souk El Shater. Toum, Zhoug and Lebanese pickles/pickled turnips are why I prefer shawarma over doner or gyro.
