We went to our private physician's offices in Manhattan (Weill Cornell Doctors, they have a number of locations) and the results for covid and antibody tests came the same night and the next day. I don't know if you have to be an established patient there, though.

I just watched the first few minutes of NBC Nightly News and they said that in Arizona, people are waiting in line for 8 hours (in their cars) to get tests. And then if they do manage to get a test it can take 10 business days to get results.

In my case, I'm still waiting for the results of my test (Northern and Broadway facility) from last Thursday. So it's been 5 days - including a holiday weekend. They did tell me 5 to 8 days so I guess I'll just keep waiting.

In the case of Arizona, I don't really see how 10 business days, which is really like 14 days, can be effective in keeping down the spread. I suppose if you really think you have it, then the test is in some ways a formality since you should be home isolating anyway. If people are asymptomatic and get tested, then not knowing the results for 14 days is going to give them 14 days to spread it.
