Re-opening this thread.

LETYS flan is the best I've had in the neighborhood. I'm having flantastic-flashbacks thinking about it now.

Lety's specimen is quivering moist, thick and dense, yet yielding and smooth, smooth smooth.
The sauce is burned for that delicious caramel depth..... but not too burned.
It blows my mind.

We've tried flans/creme caramels from desert places and panaderias all over JH and elmhurst - none come close.

Does anyone have a flan that can stand up to it! JH must know! Share your flan favorites!

Also: Lety's needs a shout out. Italian bakery, mexican owners, employees from around the nabe.   What better food to represent the joys of sugar from around the world.
Flan is loved in many places....
