It has been shown endlessly on this forum that no-one is ever convinced by others' views.
And that folks are simply interested in expressing their own particular bubble's attitudes.

If there were even one example of a person on either side of the spectrum having had their political leanings changed on this forum, I am yet to see it.

IMO, any person who is open to having their mind changed politically, deserves a medal.
No matter which side of the spectrum they sit. Because they are a unicorn!

This is an era of a person's side being all good and the opposition all bad.

Shades of grey don't seem to exist.

Anyone who still believes in the collusion delusion, I have nothing to say to them.

this has been proven false about 27 times in the past few days.

if i ever change my mind on issues like trans rights, tear-gassing civilians, supporting race-based voter suppression, women's rights and so many other things, i would hope a friend would kill me in my sleep.

Stupid questions, and that would just be my opinion, which is meaningless. Stop watching fake news and listen to the facts

Could it be, that you don't have answers to these questions?

How you've benefited from a president you'd like to see reelected seems a basic question.

My political leanings influenced my decision to live in Jackson Heights and the neighborhood has further influenced my political leanings. This definitely isn't the only reason I decided to live here, but it definitely played a part. People live here for all sorts of reasons and I'm curious of yours. Since this is Jackson Heights Life, I don't think it's irrelevant (aka "stupid").

How you think a second term for trump would be beneficial in a broader sense for other people and the world seems a fair question too.

You don't have to answer if you don't want to, but you're making it appear that you don't have answers by writing these off as "stupid questions". I'm genuinely interested in what you have to say.

Here's a new question: Who or what is the authority on "the facts". Where can one find these?

Also, I don't watch the news (fake or real) - I think in general the way the news on TV is covered is pretty horrible. They use fear and anxiety to keep people watching. I find this as true of CNN as it is of Fox News. It's not a political thing, it's the business. They have to keep people watching to bring in those advertising dollars.

With all these questions, maybe you should be on Dr. Phil.

Benoit,

Please feel free to send me a private message in response to my questions if you don't feel comfortable answering publicly. If you can't answer some basic questions about the candidate you support, one can only assume that you don't know why you support it.

You can speak for yourself, without it you just seem like a robot wistfully following along on cruise control because it's easier for you than having any type of critical thinking.

This will be my last post in this thread, it's useless.

The trouble with this statement is that if the other side is truly FEARFUL OF CHANGE, there is no discussion possible.

The only way to understand the other side is...

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… until you climb in his skin and walk around in it.”

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, by HARPER LEE.

This applies equally to Democrats concerning Republicans and visa versa.

Education and understanding and discussion is a mature way to deal with conflicts.

"Me good, You bad" methods don't work even in kindergarten.

the world of hypotheses and theories is a perfect world.

everything goes according to plan.

everyone does exactly what everyone else would like them to. every plan is carried out as intended.

i've never been able to visit that world.

but i do enjoy an atmosphere that's heady with knowing condescension and an offhand omniscience.

An article in the NYT about 25 million applications for affordable housing in NYC.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/15/nyregion/nyc-affordable-housing-lottery.html

Do you remember when AOC was against affordable housing at the 82nd street Target site?

I hope all you never Trumper’s in this group will take the time to watch the real news tonight during his rally. 70% of the fake news media is owned by anti-trumpers. The line already started last night for his rally in Tulsa. There were 1 million request for tickets to hear him  speak. The truth needs to be spoken, and he is the only one speaking it. No need to make negative comments.Watch the rally, and then comment. And if you don’t watch the rally, then think about the syndrome. And think about the alternative to President Trump. Do you really want Joe Biden leading this country? Do you all hate trump so much that you would rather this  country be run by a bunch of criminals with their own agenda that doesn’t include keeping America great?  What’s happening in Seattle, without Trump, will happen across the country. Everybody on this site was all upset about the riots that were supposed to happen on 37th ave. Without Trump in charge, that will be an every day occurrence. That’s what the democrats wants. Riots, civil unrest, and defending the police. That is the agenda. And if you still believe in the Russian collusion delusion, you seriously have TDS.
