I want to have my bathtub regrouted.  Can anyone recommend anyone and what would be the approximate cost?

I just booked a guy off Craigslist for next Thursday, he quoted me $195.00 for the 3 walls above the tub
and $45.00 for the tiles in the ceiling. My tub is 5ft in length, it's a very small bathroom "66x"60, but
the tiles/grout outside the tub are in good condition. Along all tub seams he will put silicone.

4-6 hr job. Tub can be used 3 hrs after the job is done. The guy is from Brooklyn, Bay Ridge/Dyker Heights border.
I will post before and after photos after he is done next week.

I'm curious how it went since I still haven't selected someone to do mine.

He called about 10 minutes before he was scheduled to come and said he was stuck in traffic
because of an accident on the BQE by the LIE, understandable, nice guy, a little messy(had to do
a little cleaning after he finished), but not a big deal for me.

I asked him why he didn't put silicone on the other edge of the tub and he
told me because water doesn't go there. Overall though he did a good job.
He spent 4 1/2 hrs.

It looks better then before but I have to get the tub re-glazed soon.

If you are wondering if I would use him again, the answer would be yes, but this time
I would check up on him every now and then to make sure everything that I wanted to be done was being done.
Not having put silicone on the other outside edge of the tub is mainly a cosmetic issue.

I've used Rob Mara (rmara@thegrountandtilegy.com) before several times and he does pretty good work.  I had no shelves in my shower and he was able to cut, round, polish and install some marble into the corner of the stand-up shower.  They came out very well and 2 years later, they have held up quite well.

I did the work last week and paid $350.  It included the grouting and caulking and he spackled the wall wear there was some paint cracking from the steam.  He then came back the next day and painted the entire (small bathroom).  I was happy with the job.

hi I"m thinking of having my bathroom regrouted.  the contacts in this old post don't seem to work any more.  does anyone have any success stories or recommendations?  Or even a suggestion about how much a basic JH bathroom would cost to regrout?
thanks!
