Big tree down on 85th St.

Looks like a Fresh Direct truck making deliveries got hit by a big tree. Hope no one was hurt.

These big trees are dangerous. The buildings in Jackson Heights don’t want to pay to trim or remove damaged trees.

That tree has been showing signs of it dying for awhile. Its leaves grow out a couple weeks later than other trees, and a bunch of branches on it were dead.  I wonder if the coop had a landscaper/arborist  come in to look at it over the past couple of years to advise about whether or not to remove it?
