Warning:  If you happen to enter Orchid Liquors for the first time be certain to ask for the price since prices are not marked.  I have a friend who visits occasionally and drinks Smirnoff Vodka.  I usually get a pint at either the liquor store on Roosevelt & 78 St or Broadway & 74 St.  Both places its $6.99 + tax or $7.61.  I happened to be shopping at Food Dynasty yesterday and entered Orchid Liquors and noticed they had Smirnoff pint.  I asked the price and was told $12.99.  I asked him (he's not the owner) to repeat the price and again $12.99 and I walked out. 

Jimmy's not the owner and seems to be resigned to the whims of the owner -- the woman who's in on occasion. the prices used to be in line with other places, but sometime in the past couple of years, things went way out of whack. i will buy Sobieski vodka from time to time, and the price of a 750 ml bottle went from $12.99 to $19.99 over the course of two or three years -- while staying the same at the liquor store next to Thai Son, meaning 12.99 for that size, and $14.99 for a liter. Orchid is closer, but i can't justify that kind of markup.
