#BiketoberfestNYC in Jackson Heights
Sunday, Oct 22
11 am to 3 pm
(With Bike Ride at 1pm)
This Sunday, Oct 22, NYC DOT will be distributing bike-related goodies and information at Travers Park. In addition, at 1pm, our friends from Make Queens Safer will be leading a bike ride in our area.
What will happen:
• A bike mechanic present will offer free services like pumping tires and fixing brakes.
• Bike education material and free giveaways like bike lights, bells, and tote bags.
• NYC DOT will collect feedback from the community on what they like/don't like about cycling in our area.
• New and inexperienced riders will get the chance to learn more about how to commute by bicycle and to move around our neighborhood.
• Share information on rules of the road and existing bike routes.
• Answer any questions local residents may have regarding the biking or the bike network with assistance from DOT’s bike program staff.
• There will be a guided bike ride departing from the station at 1 PM led by Make Queens Safer. It will be a short ride (about an hour, a few miles) showcasing local points of interest by bike and safety infrastructure. This will be a slow, safe and hopefully fun and instructive ride.
Just show up! It’s FREE!
