Jackson Heights Life

This Spring, every Saturday from 10AM - 1PM we will be working on a JH cleaning and greening
project.  Feel free to put on some old clothes and get your hands dirty. 
Everyone is welcome, we provide gloves and tools. 
If you are bringing a group, please e-mail me so I can make sure we have enough supplies. 
We are gardeners, so we work rain or shine!

Saturday, March 1st   -- Tree giveaway at JH Scraps at 69th and 35th Ave. This was a great success!

Saturday, March 8th
 -- Leverich Cemetery clean out, meet in alley behind Legends Bar at 35th Avenue
and Leverich Street (look for balloons!)  This will be heavy lifting work, but all are welcome as there is lots of work to be done.

Saturday, March 15th
 -- Tulip garden clean up.  Clean out trash and put in pebble path
 -- Leverich Cemetery clean out day 2, meet in alley behind Legends Bar at 35th
Avenue and Leverich Street (look for balloons!)

Saturday, March 22th
 -- Junction and 34th Avenue Garden clean up -- putting in a pebble path, fix
fence post, turning soil,ect.
 -- mulch and clean up PS 149 at 93rd and 34th Avenue

Saturday, March 29th
 -- mulch and clean IS 145 at 34th Avenue and 90th Street.

Saturday, April 5th
 -- plant hardy annuals at PS 149

Saturday, April 12th
 -- plant hardy annuals at IS 145

Saturday, April 19th
 --  dig up soil at 70th Street near 37th Avenue.

Saturday, April 26th
 -- Tree pit work (location to be determined)

Saturday, May 3rd
 -- Its my park day at Traver's Park  meet at 78th Street Play Street at 34th Avenue and 78th Street

Saturday, May 10th
 -- plant vegetables garden at 34th Avenue and Junction Blvd.

Saturday, May 17th
 -- plant vegetables at 69th Street garden

Saturday, May 24th
 -- plant flowers along 37th Avenue

Saturday, May 31st
 -- Tree pit clean up (location to be determined)
Saturday, June 7th
 -- Water garden and tidy garden at 34th and Junction Blvd.
Saturday, June 14th
 -- Water garden and tidy garden along 69th Street between 37th Avenue and 35th Avenue
Saturday, June 21st
 -- Water garden at 34th and Junction Blvd.
Saturday, June 28th
-- Water garden at 69th Street between 37th Avenue and 34th Avenue.

We had a great turn out and really hard workers.  We will be back next Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM, but I think we are more than half way though.  I can't believe how much we did in just a few hours.  Check out the JHBG facebook page to see photos.
