Restaurant Club? We all love to eat right?

 I've lived in JH for 2.5 years now and absolutely love it here.  I've wandered around the neighborhood many a time for new places to eat but have honestly had little success.  I end up going back to the same places every time- mostly because they are so good! I'm new to JHLife, so, first off I'd just like to thank everyone for posting so much great info for us foodies in JH...I cant wait to try all the restaurants I've read about.

Have any of you every thought about some kind of restaurant club in the 'hood? Like a bunch of us getting together and trying a new place once a month or anything? I think it would be a great idea to eat good food and meet some neighbors too! Would there be any interest in something like that?

hell yeah im interested. im mad i didnt think of this first. especially with the winter coming and social activities slowing down...

I have the opposite problem... the potential for being awesome is my priority over something I already know is great. I keep going to new places. especially thai... how am I supposed to pick just one place? (zabb zabb is winning.)

Hey Jeff-

Yeah I thought it was a pretty good idea too  ;) Hope fully we can get some more responses and try to really do it.  We may all go out and decide its a bad idea...or it might be pretty kiss $%*  We'll see... anyone else up for a night out in the 'hood? Throw out any days and/or times that work best for people... and of course restaurants you may like to go to first...

a few of us have done this and had a nice time meeting each other and exploring new places.  the hard part is finding a night and time.  why don't you pick something, then pick a couple nights/times and post them and if people can make it they'll post back.  that's what we did.   first time we met at LEGENDS, second time MYSTIC PLANET. there's another thread about getting together.

Thanks Buddy- didnt know there was another thread...I checked before I posted it but didnt see anything.  So how was it last time? Did you make it to many restaurants? If we can get 6 or7 people together that would be cool.  Is anyone else out there? Interested? Do weekdays work best? Im open to anything...

Weekends are best for me.  I'd love to go out and find some new places to eat.  We could also entertain the idea of a "dinner club" type thing if anyone is interested.  We'd take turns going to each other's places and everyone cooks something different, but all associated with a theme.  I don't know how people woul react to strangers being in their homes, but if there would be a small recurring group, it could be fun.  As soon as my kitchen gets renovated, i'll have everyone over, lol!  Until then, lets go out and find some good grub.

here's the one thread on getting together.  five got together the first time, six or seven the next.  it was fun.

then jeff and mark and I met for lunch another time.   if you post something more specific, a few people will join you.  you'll never really get a large group together because of the logistics involved of everyone's schedule but there are always a few people who will be able to meet and it's really fun.  everyone I've met thru this site has been really nice.

i am still a greenpoint resident, but in the process of buying an apartment in JH, so i'm starting pretend that i am indeed a JH resident. this sounds like a great idea. i'd be game if the timing is right.

We could all post reviews of the restaurants as Jeff does, but these would be different opinions on the same restaurant.
