Old B&B Pharmacy Space
« on: June 05, 2016, 06:47:06 PM »
I noticed today that the old site of B&B Pharmacy (next to Emoji Burger) on 37th has been replaced by yet another pharmacy.  That makes 8 pharmacies (77th-84th street) on 8 consecutive blocks of 37th Ave.

I know some small pharmacies (not chain stores) in Jackson Heights and Astoria sell drugs like antibiotics without a prescription. Maybe that is why there are so many little ones popping up. Don't know how they can otherwise compete with the prices in the big stores.

I think one reason there are so many small pharmacies is that each ethnic group seems to have their own. Where their language is spoken, etc. And we have so many ethnic groups in JH!
