Fun things for kids to do on the weekend
« on: April 12, 2016, 11:43:24 AM »
Has anyone got ideas for what children in Jackson Heights, (who are interested in art and music) can do on the weekends?
Being a newbie I don't know of many activities (except in Manhattan) so I am starting a Maker Space for kids this Saturday.
We will meet in Room #2 at the Community United Methodist Church, 81-10 35th Ave, Jackson Heights.
All children ages 2-12 are welcome to come along. Just bring your imagination and you can create anything!
Time: 10-11am
Cost: $5 per child
Parent supervision required for children under 5 years old.
I provide the materials to build, make, and create, so if your child wants something creative to do this weekend, email: makerspaceforkids@gmail.com to reserve a space.
P.S. Any other suggestions of other weekend art/music activities for kids welcome!

Sounds great, Shazza09! My niece and nephew usually go to a movie on Saturdays but I've always wondered about programs in the area that take them away from those dreaded screens. Will it be an ongoing event or is this a one-off? We might be able to make it next Sat if it's still running.

The Maker Space sounds like a great idea!

It's long overdue for an update, but we have a list of activities and organizations in the neighborhood here:
