Cat in need of new home
« on: September 26, 2016, 09:39:58 PM »
I realize this is a long shot, but here goes…

We are trying to find a new home for our sweet, gentle, 11 year old male old tabby.  We love him dearly but we have a very active toddler and a now-crawling baby. And our apartment has become a war zone for him. He's stressed and unhappy. Really unhappy. We want him to be somewhere where he can live out the rest of his days in peace.

He gets along with other cats. (And older kids.) He's never lived with a dog but our guess is that if the dog is chill he will be too. He is a frail fellow and has had some health problems in the past, but they are being managed with diet.

If anyone has room in their heart and life for a lovable, quiet, and slightly shellshocked tabby, or if you have advice on how to find a good home for him, do let me know. We’re not willing to take him to a shelter.

Thanks so much.

What about getting some baby gates to separate them? I couldn't imagine giving away my furry babies. I've also had a couple of babies/toddlers/other animals. They will eventually get used to each other. Even if you do find a home for him, he will probably miss you terribly. Don't give up it gets easier.

If you are really serious about getting rid of your cat, maybe you could consider offering up some money toward food, supplies and vet bills, and possibly some other kind of support for the person who would take a "frail" older cat off your hands, such as being the one to take the cat for vet visits, etc.

bellabella: Thank you. That's a great idea. We'll give it a try.

Miss Chatelaine: We would certainly be happy to provide money toward food and other bills. We just want to make sure he's in a loving home, and would of course do what we could to support that.
